Agency network BBDO consolidates finances and planning processes of more than 50 agencies in Oracle Hyperion

Challenges & Solutions
The consolidation results comming from more than 50 agencies were based on Excel and E-Mail and were time-consuming and error-prone. Just the adaption of dinamic formats for the reporting design tooks multiple days. The multistage planning process was supported inadequately. With the connection of all agencies to Hyperion from Oracle, a web-based data collection and central repository, the consolidation process could be accelerated by approximately 50% while increasing the data quality. Thanks to fully automatic processing no additional effort is incurred. Today the multistage planning processes are much more efficient and transparent thanks to the support of tools with workflows .
Tourism group TUI is harmonizing financial consolidation with Oracle Hyperion Financial Management
With more than 76,000 employees and a turnover of around 20 billion euros, TUI is the largest tourism company in Europe. The listed group consists of travel agencies, agencies, hotels, airlines, cruise ships and tour operators.
Challenges & Solutions
In phase I, the companies of the entire "Tui Travel PLC" subgroup were integrated into the new consolidation system in order to replace the existing consolidation solution. The already existing consolidation application (HFM) of Tui Travel PLC was expanded to include the requirements of TUI AG. The task here was to make changes in the chart of accounts, in the calculation rules, in reporting, in the interfaces and in the underlying processes and to integrate them into the existing environment.
In phase II, the remaining TUI AG companies were connected in order to replace the existing consolidation solutions here too and to be able to support the entire consolidation process with a single system. The main challenge here was to connect all pre-systems to the central consolidation system and to create the interfaces for them.
In both phases, the system users were trained by employees of RSVP Management Solutions and supported in test and live operation.
The engineering company Leybold Optics consolidate Finance with Hyperion Financial Management
Leybold Optics is a subgroup of the Swiss technology corporation Bühler AG. Within the vacuum technology and the optic precision mechanics it is part of the global market leaders.
The company deals with the development and production of special machines and grounds for coating of glases with thin films. The company's headquarter is in Alzenau in lower Franconia, right next to the former Leybold subsidiary Applied Materials. In 2012 the company was taken over from the Swiss technology company Bühler AG.
Challenges & Solutions
The original consolidated finance data gained from Hyperion Enterprise were not sufficient to satisfy the demands of the local controlling department and reporting system of the parent company. There was required and implemented inter alia a more detailed account system and a Profit and Loss according to the total cost and cost-of-sales method. Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) provides the necessary technical requirements in order to represent the higher detail data within the new system. Furthermore they introduce complex calculations to represent their finance data (e.g. after two different calculation-/assessment methods, transfer rules, ...) and perfomance indicators within the system.
The old, excel based, interface between the local accounting system and the consolidiation system were replaced. The manual data entry and adjustment of Excel data was time consuming and error-prone. The multistage planning process was supported inadequately. Thanks to Hyperion Financial Data Quality Management (FDM) they set up a central, web-based interface which is useful for the quick load of finace data which can be directly extracted and used from the accounting system. In this way the local companies save time in their reporting as every manual data input can be dropped. With the connection of all subsidiaries of Leybold Optics to Hyperion Financial Management the consolidation process could be accelerated while increasing the data quality. The multistage planning processes can perform more efficient and transparent.

Tremco Illbruck is a subgroup of the amercian construction company RPM Building Solutions. Tremco Illbruck is part of the leading market leaders in the field of window sealing, facade protection and roof- and surface coating.

In the context of introducing the consolidation system Hyperion Financial Management thanks to the parent company RPM Building Solution the advantage of the previous planning system was not anymore given.
A recompilation of the planning solution with Hyperion Planning causes the adaption of the planning system to the structures of the new consolidation system and meets the high demands relative to the planning details and time problems at the plan development.
Thanks to the implementation of Hyperion Planning at Tremco Illbruck it was possible to increase the level of detail of plan data and reduce the plan throughput speed. Furthermore they integrate functions within the system in order to simplify and support the work of the planners.

Scout24 AG operates the well-known online platforms ImmobilienScout24 and AutoScout24. The Scout24 Group is active in 18 countries and makes its offers and services available to over 8 million users.
Challenges & Solutions
As part of the takeover of the Scout24 Group by an investment company, the planning, consolidation and interface tools of the Group Accounting and Controlling departments had to be adapted to the new reporting requirements. Among other things, new applications have been set up that have a calendar that matches the financial year of the investment company and filled it with data. Additional plan scenarios were created and the interfaces were adapted or newly created with the help of ETL tools in order to enable data exchange between the planning and consolidation application.
